1. Agreement to These Terms

By downloading, installing, or using the RemitDiary mobile application (“the App”), you agree to these Terms and Conditions (“Terms”) and our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference. If you do not accept these Terms, you must not use the App.

These Terms constitute a legally binding agreement between you (“User,” “you,” or “your”) and RemitDiary (“we,” “us,” or “our”). Your continued use of the App after we publish updated Terms means you accept the changes. If you disagree with a revision, you should stop using the App and delete your account.

2. About RemitDiary

RemitDiary is a personal financial tracking tool designed for migrant workers. It lets you record your remittance transfers, set savings goals, track debts, manage document expiry dates, and generate a personal Sacrifice Report.

3. Creating an Account

To use RemitDiary you must register for an account. You must be at least 13 years of age to do so. By creating an account, you represent that you meet this requirement.

You are responsible for keeping your login credentials secure and for all activity that takes place under your account. If you suspect your account has been accessed without your authorisation, notify us immediately at hello@remitdiary.com. Accounts are for personal, non-commercial use only. You may not register on behalf of another person or create accounts for bulk or automated purposes.

4. Your Data and Content

All financial data you enter into RemitDiary — your transfers, goals, debts, documents, and profile information — belongs to you. We do not claim any ownership over it. We process your data only to provide the App's features to you, as described in our Privacy Policy.

By using the App, you grant us a limited, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to store and process your data solely for the purpose of operating RemitDiary for you. This licence terminates automatically when you delete your account.

You are responsible for the accuracy of the information you enter. You can export your transfer history as a CSV file at any time from within the app, and you can delete your account and all associated data from Settings → Security & Privacy → Delete Account.

5. Acceptable Use

RemitDiary is built for honest, personal financial tracking. You agree to use it only for this purpose and in compliance with all laws that apply to you — both in your home country and the country where you live and work. You agree not to attempt to access or interfere with any other user's account or data.

6. Prohibited Conduct

The following conduct is strictly prohibited. You must not use RemitDiary to engage in any activity that is unlawful under any applicable local, national, or international law or regulation. You must not attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile, modify, or tamper with the App or any part of its underlying infrastructure. You must not introduce malware, viruses, or any harmful code. You must not use automated scripts or tools to interact with the App's backend services in a way that disrupts the service for other users. You must not use the App for any commercial purpose without our prior written consent. You must not create false or misleading records for any fraudulent purpose.

We reserve the right to take any action we deem appropriate in response to prohibited conduct, including immediate account suspension and, where warranted, reporting to relevant authorities.

7. Intellectual Property

RemitDiary and all its components — including the name, logo, design, source code, user interface, and written content (other than your personal data) — are owned by us and protected under applicable intellectual property laws. Nothing in these Terms transfers any intellectual property rights to you.

We grant you a limited, personal, non-transferable, non-sublicensable, revocable licence to use the App on your device in accordance with these Terms. You may not copy, reproduce, distribute, modify, adapt, translate, create derivative works from, publicly display, or commercially exploit any part of the App without our express written permission.

Open-source components included in the App are subject to their respective licences, which are unaffected by these Terms.

8. Disclaimer of Warranties

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, REMITDIARY IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE” WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED. WE EXPRESSLY DISCLAIM ALL WARRANTIES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, TITLE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.

We do not warrant that the App will be available continuously or without interruption, that it will be free of errors or security vulnerabilities, or that any exchange rate information displayed will be accurate, current, or suitable for any financial decision. Exchange rates are estimates only.

Nothing in the App constitutes financial, investment, tax, or legal advice. You should consult a qualified professional before acting on any financial information.

9. Limitation of Liability

TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, IN NO EVENT SHALL REMITDIARY, ITS FOUNDERS, EMPLOYEES, OR AGENTS BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES — INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO LOSS OF DATA, LOSS OF REVENUE, LOSS OF PROFITS, OR FINANCIAL LOSS — ARISING OUT OF OR IN CONNECTION WITH YOUR USE OF OR INABILITY TO USE THE APP, EVEN IF WE HAVE BEEN ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES.

Our total aggregate liability to you for any claim arising under or related to these Terms shall not exceed the greater of (a) the total amount you paid us, if anything, in the twelve months preceding the claim, or (b) one hundred United States dollars (USD 100).

Some jurisdictions do not permit exclusion of implied warranties or limitation of liability for consequential damages. In such jurisdictions, our liability is limited to the maximum extent permitted by applicable law.

10. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless RemitDiary and its founders, officers, employees, and agents from and against any and all claims, damages, liabilities, losses, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of or related to: your use of the App in violation of these Terms; your violation of any applicable law or regulation; your violation of any third-party right, including intellectual property or privacy rights; or any data or content you submit through the App.

11. Suspension and Termination

You may delete your account at any time from Settings → Security & Privacy → Delete Account. All your data is removed immediately and permanently.

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your access to the App at any time, with or without prior notice, if we reasonably believe you have violated these Terms, have acted in a way that harms other users or us, or have used the App for unlawful purposes. We will not be liable to you for losses resulting from a termination carried out in good faith under this provision.

The following sections survive termination of your account and remain in full force: Section 7 (Intellectual Property), Section 8 (Disclaimer of Warranties), Section 9 (Limitation of Liability), Section 10 (Indemnification), and Section 12 (Governing Law and Disputes).

12. Governing Law and Disputes

These Terms are governed by and shall be construed in accordance with the laws of Bangladesh, without regard to its conflict of law principles. Nothing in these Terms affects any non-waivable statutory rights you may have under the consumer protection or data protection laws of your own country.

We genuinely want to resolve problems quickly. If you have a concern about RemitDiary or these Terms, please contact us first at hello@remitdiary.com. Most issues can be resolved informally and we aim to respond within 7 business days. If a dispute cannot be resolved through good-faith discussion, both parties agree to attempt mediation before pursuing any formal legal proceedings.

13. Changes to These Terms

We may revise these Terms from time to time as the App evolves. When we do, we will update the “Last Updated” date at the top of this page. For material changes, we will provide notice within the App. Your continued use of RemitDiary after updated Terms are published constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms. If you do not agree with a revision, please stop using the App and delete your account.
